Hello! I am having a bunch of trouble! I created a scene in blender. I rendered it out as a multilayer open EXR file. In AE, I interpreted the footage, and applied the EXtractoR effect.  I could now see the video, but it was extremely dark. Some parts of it, (places of reflection of light in the scene) were extremely bright and saturated. And even looked like someone had applied a glow effect on those spots and cranked it to the max. Very strange. I was able to get the brightness and over all look better in the color settings of the comp, but those bright and saturated parts were still there. Anyone have any clue how to fix this?

You need to work with color management/ profiles/ LUTs and also set the ranges of the outputs accordingly. EXR files use linear color spaces by default, but your monitor isn't linear and nor is AE unless you tell it to. In fact chances are you are already screwing this up in Blender for similar reasons. You might want to read up on how to work in 32bpc in AE in the online help and how to configure this stuff.
