AE doesn't support color fonts. You have to import such stuff as graphics from Illustrator.

The font color is set using the Character Panel.

Please spend some time in the Learn workspace and the User Guide. Just poking around in After Effects is a terrible way to learn how to use the app.

I know how to change the font color – I'm not just poking around.

As I've just learned, After Effects doesn't support color fonts, which is what was in question.

There is really no such thing as a colored font. There are apps that will pre-color fonts that are designed for web applications, but standard fonts have no place in the font code to assign colors. There are also plug-ins and scripts that will add Color or even designs to font layers, but font color is not part of the basic design of a font.

I wasn't aware of that – I haven't ever needed to use color fonts. Thank you! 🙂
