Footage Files over-exposing when importing to After Effects

This issue only started in the last week, but everytime I import a clip to After Effects it messes up the colours, over exposes the footage and drastically warms the colours.

I've tried changing the colour space, interpetting the footage each of the different colour options but nothing seems to fix it.

The issue has seemed to snowball and I am now seemingly restricted in colour and font choices and am at a loss of what to do next.

Please provide as much info as you can about the source footage.  Where does it come from?  Do you know the camera type?  File format, color space, resolution, frame rate, file size etc.

What are the colour management settings for your system, and for your composition?  Please post screengrabs.

What do you mean by being "restricted in colour and font choices?"
