Generate Fill Layer takes very long / After Effects

I am using rotobrush 3.0 alot. I have a 3070 i7, but just keep the work area not more than 300 frames. Otherwise it takes too long to process. After effect needs too load in too much for yoir system probably.

If it is still slow, restart your computer and dont open any other program than AFX.

Thirty seconds in an incredibly long shot. The shot you chose in Premiere Pro is about 5 minutes long. That was your first mistake. I've been using After Effects since 1994, and I don't think I have ever created more than a dozen compositions longer than 15 seconds. Most shots in most movies are less than 7 seconds long, and even the long shots that need special effects are often broken up into manageable pieces.

After Effects process every pixel on every layer in every frame. The proper workflow would have been to cue up the five-minute shot in Premiere Pro so that only the frames you need to work on are replaced with an After Effects composition. If the person was in the shot for 15 seconds at the start of the shot, then in it again for 10 seconds a minute layer, then it is again for 5 seconds at the end of the shot, you should have cut the long shot at 15 seconds, a minute later from 0:01:00 to 0:01:10, then again at 0;04:30 and made 3 comps. If the person is in the shot once for 30 seconds, then just convert those 30 seconds to an AE comp. 

Because Content-Aware Fill does take a long time to work, you should render your Comp when it has successfully removed the person from the shot. You might even consider splitting the layer in After Effects into 5-second sections and running CAF on each of the five sections, rendering each section as it completes by pre-composing each of the shorter parts of the shot and choosing Pre-render from the Composition Menu. This will render the pre-comps to a high-quality production master and replace them in the main comp with a movie so that you have built up a comp that is a lot more stable and less likely to have problems. Any comp that I create in After Effects that takes longer than a couple of seconds a frame to render is always rendered to a production master, especially because Dynamic Link comps always take longer to render in Premiere Pro than they do when rendering in the Render Queue. 

You should stop the process if you already have some frames successfully rendered in After Effects. You should not lose any of the fill frames that have been created. Then split the layer pairs up at the first repaired frame and the last rendered repaired frame, then delete the unneeded sections, and render your comp using the High-Quality Output Module preset in the Render Queue. You can then delete the DL section in the Premiere sequence and replace it with the rendered footage. That's how I use Dynamic Link to After Effects more than 90% of the time.
