Glitching on Imported Video - After Effects

Hello,

I'm having an issue with After Effects. I have a video file (mov) which is a screen recording from a phone when played on the computer the file is fine.

I've imported this into AE and it glitches when played, glitching also appears after exporting. I've tried importing the video file to Media Encoder - exporting as an mp4 & also AppleProRes 422 LT but those files also appear with a glitch in it.

Any suggestions on how to resolve the issue?

Thanks!

Correct answer Mylenium

The clip likely needs to be converted through a third-party tool like Handbrake or any other ffmpeg-based encoder. Screen recordings are always problematic due to variable data and frame rates as well as structural issues from hiccups during recording and such.

Hi Katiem92,

Thanks for reaching out.

I second with Mylenium, screen recorded footages are known to have such issues due to variable frame rate in most cases. Here's an article that'll share more details and solution: https://community.adobe.com/t5/premiere-pro/faq-issues-with-screen-recorded-footage-in-premiere-pro/td-p/10874355?page=1

Let us know if it helps.

Thanks,

Nishu
