Glow is always black no matter A & B colors

The glow on my mask is black for some reason. I am not sure why, but I am trying to create white and blue glow, but no matter what I do, my glow is always black. I have tried changing all of hte colors, and redoing the process, but it is always black. At one point it would switch from black to the normal colors halfway, but it stopped doing that.

To use the A & B color properties in the Glow Effect, the Glow Based On property needs to be changed to Alpha Channel. You left it on Color Channel which means it uses the layers colors to produce the glow.

i would also switch the Composite Original  to On Top if you want the original layer above the glow.

To simplify the glow, try using a shape layer instead of a mask with Stroke applied to a solid and switching the rendering engine to Classic 3D.

The C4D rendering engine does not support many things, including Effects and Blend modes on some types of 3D layers. If you don't need to extrude a layer, you don't need the C4D rendering engine.
