GPU Acceleration Greyed Out in AE 2020

So, I have looked at all the other issues and no one seems to yet have a problem similar to mine. I just upgraded to Catalina and I am working on a Mid 2012 MacBook Pro (new SDD and fully stocked with max RAM) and I'm unable to select any GPU options at all in any Adobe video application After Effects, Premiere etc. All of them will not allow me to make any GPU changes. They are simply greyed out. What should I do? I see that the drivers aren't working for most people right now. My graphics card is an Intel HD Graphics 4000 1536 MB. Any ideas? I'm pretty desperate here. I've tried talking to customer support several times and there is always a deep misunderstanding of the problem.

Your Intel graphics card has never supported GPU acceleration. You need a newer machine.
