Gradient Start End Issue

Question

I have an animated line I created. I want the line to start as green and then eventually turn red. I put the start of ramp on the start of the line. I put the end of ramp point where I would like it to start turning red.

What is happening is it starts red, then green then back to red and I can't figure out why.

The gradient does not flow along the path. It's a simple linear gradient overlay. What you want will require extra work or using a third-party plug-in that provides such a facility. In your case start by trying the Vegas effect with only one repeat and set to use the mask.
