That's a sure sign that you don't have some fundamental After Effects knowledge.  Yeah, I know it's tempting to jump right into the fun stuff, but AE's too complicated to use without Basic Training.

It'll take some time... and no one here has the time to hold your hgand for a step-by-step explanation when a perfectly good tutorial is stumping you.
