How do I easily remove these folders?

Question

I don't know what this part/section is called but, is there a way to easily remove them? Everytime I go into a nested composition it shows up in this area and it's crowding up this part. I like to keep it clean. In fact, I only want the folder to show up in this area if I'm currently in the sub/nested composition/layer. Is this possible? It is annoying that I have to manually click the x on each folder to close it. Thanks!

This is just how it works - auto-open, but no automatic close. AE simply has no way of knowing that you want the tabs to close once you move to another. Mylenium
