Question

How Do I Fix "Animation Strobing" (I don't know the correct term)

Hi!

I'll attach a video here that refers to my problem. When you watch it, please pay attention to the UFO. My problem is how it feels "stagger-y" like it moves like it has Posterize Time, but faster. The movement does not feel smooth for some reason.

The video properties:

24 frames; 1920x1080 p; rendered in Time Interpolation: Frame Sampling (I tried Frame Blending, but same results); The animation came from Exr sequence in C4D.

I feel like I have to increase the FPS of this, but I would like it to remain 24 fps, if possible.

Thanks!

That's called Judder. It is caused by the interaction of the frame rate and the speed of the movement.

Motion blur helps a lot. Changing the frame rate of the comp to 29.97 or 30 gives you more safe speeds to work with than 24 frames per second. Your sample video is 24 fps. Just changing the comp frame rate to 30 would go a long way to fixing the problem. I just added Pixel Motion Blur to your footage and the motion blur improved the footage a great deal. Take a look at the footage I uploaded.
