How do I get effects and preset controls to come back?

I can't figure out how to get the controls to make adjustments to the effects and presets.effect to sho up again. I don't even remember deleting it. Can anyone help me?

Reset the workspace or drag the panel tab to another position. Looks like AE's awful buggy hardware acceleration is blanking the comp panel and thus doesn't draw anything in this region correctly.

Hey thanks I've done all that I've tried different workspaces. I've even restarted the software and then when that didn't work, I completely completely completely removed creative cloud from my computer restarted the computer, Reese loaded, creative cloud, reinstalled after effects, started the project over again still didn't work
