Question

How does one install AE Adobe ExtendScript toolkit?

I'm new to AE and I've just learned that I must install the Adobe ExtendScript toolkit before I can begin working with a plugin.

I'm not finding any helpful information regarding the toolkits for this current version, so am I to assume that I can download the ESTK 3.5 Mac OS: AdobeExtendScriptToolkit3.5.0-mul.dmg (DMG, 76.7 MB) from this link ExtendScript Toolkit Archives  | Adobe Developer Connection ?

If so, I *think* it's corrupt because I get a message that reads, "Install.app" is damaged and can't be opened. You should eject the disk image."

Now what? Am I going about this the wrong way?

Please help this newb.

TIA, Lisa

If you really need ExtendScript Toolkit, I don't understand why you wouldn't download it from the Creative Cloud interface.

There is another thread on here that discusses going through the Adobe Creative Cloud app installer, but it is necessary to sift through the preferences and check the Show Older Apps box so Extendscript shows as a download option.

Trent's is the real answer. It's in the CC desktop app, but you need to enable that preference.

Incidentally, ESTK is being sunset in lieu of a plugin for Visual Studio Code. See more details here: https://medium.com/adobetech/extendscript-debugger-for-visual-studio-code-public-release-a2ff6161fa01

Hi. Which plugin are you trying to use? Do want to program a plugin yourself or just use an existing one?

If you just want to use a plugin then you shouldn't require the extended toolkit you're trying to install - frankly I'm not sure what it is you are installing.
