How does save command work in After Effects

How does save command work in Ae? sometimes it is active and sometimes it will not. Save as is always active.

Thanks for writing in.

The Save option is enabled only if there are any unsaved changes. It is indicated by an asterisk next to the project name at the top left.

I usually go to save editing but sometimes it is inactive. Usually bnutton will become active if there is any changes. Here I saw an unusual behaviour.
