How to align Shape points horizontally?

Is there a way to align (flatten) Shape points horizontally?

I want to animate boiling water. So I started with a shape of the bubbles up as you can see on the image. Now I want to animate those when they are down and then loop that. So I need all those points to be align horzontally at the bottom.

You can snap to guides or grids. The options are in the View menu. You can only drag out guides if you show the rulers, but once they are there you can still use them. Here's what that looks like:
