how to change render location

so I finished a project and rendered it, I did not have enough space on my disk so I was wondering, could I change the render location to my external drive?

by this I mean, when it done can it save the product directly to my drive.

Yes you can. Depends on how you are exporting - rendering your animation.
If by Composition> Add to render queue:

If by Composition>Add To Adobe Media Encoder render queue:

you have to click those and chose new location for your rendered files.
