How to distribute space like in Illustrator? / How to distribute layers with zero space between?

How to space layers next to each other without any extra space between them? In Illustrator there's an option for this "Distribute Spacing" but not in AE.

The image bellow shows what I'm trying to do in Illustrator which is not available in AE. Is there any way to do that?

No, while the Align pane in AE offers a number of alignment tools, it doesn't offer the specific function you're looking for.  In your example, the Horizontal Align button would evenly spread the four squares out so the space between was equal, but it doesn't have a function that would move them together with no space.

 

There's a script at aescripts that does do it, however, if you don't mind spending a few dollars.  And it may be on sale tomorrow for Cyber Monday.

The script is currently on "name your own price" so it's basically for free.

 

Without a script, just use the snapping tool and place the assets manually. If you have to do is often, consider an expression.
