How to edit AE files without open After Effects application

New Here ,
Aug 26, 2017 Aug 26, 2017

Hi guys.

I am trying to edit ae files without opening After Effects application? ,by whatever.

My concern is that I open aep files without opening After Effects application.

and then run some jsx scripts then render the video. I don't need to save the project file. only render video.

The whole process what I need is not to open the application.

Is there anyone knows this task?

actually I'm not a developer. so if you give a help to me more specifically, It will be my big bless.

Thanks.

It is not possible. AEP files are a proprietary format and largely undocumented. The only way to access their data is via AE itself. What you want can't be done.

A nice answer that applies to many formats, not just After Effects: replace the .aep extension on a duplicate of your file with .txt, and see a complete editable text version of your file. You may or may not be able to do anything, but at minimum, you can change internal meta-data etc. (similarly, with Office files, change the extension to .zip and get easy access to original assets)
