How to logo spin/rotate animation

New Here ,

Dear community,

I'm currently trying to do a littel animation with this logo. I want the marked-red line to spin or rotate around the Logo.

I tried it with the CC Cylinder effect, which would technically work; but since it's already curved it's not working out at all. Also I've tried to "flatten" that curved line out. But that didn't really work either.

Maybe someone of you guys have an idea how to solve this animation problem.

I appreciate every answer!

Best regards

Pascal

If I had to do this I would recreate the 'ring' flat in a 2d precomp and do the orbiting animation there.  Then bring that precomp into the comp with the water droplet as a 3d layer and try and match the angle and perspective with a camera there.  Once you have it lined up properly you would need to duplicate the ring comp and mask each one so that you can have it going in front of and behind the water drop layer.

On second thought easier to duplicate and mask the water drop, one on top of the ring layer, one behind.  These are kept as 2d layers.
