How to loop animated gif in After Affects CC

I have a 3-5 second animated gif that I imported and added it to the timeline of my comp.

When I play the movie it plays the 3-5 sec gif and continues to the end of the timeline.

I want the gif to continue to loop throughout the timeline. My guess is that I would have to

repeat the file multiple times. Is this the only option?

In the project panel select your footage and right click->interpret footage->main. In the menu look at the bottom for loop option.

The best option to bring in an animated gif is to open it in Photoshop and export as a movie, then go to file interpretation inside After Effects and select loop as many times as you need. Gif's directly imported into AE can be real temperamental. I never use them directly.

ok. I can do that. I want to put a few animations on my main comp and control when the animation takes place.

Also, is there a way to edit a comp on the same screen, so that I can easily see changes real time?
