How to make a fake needle injection effect

i am new to vfx and i know the basics but how am i gona make this effect is bugging my mind. do i need to 2 layer of footage an mask the needle or do i need to track something else, i really want to look it realistic. thank you in advance.

You need to provide a better explanation and screenshots/ reference frames of your footage and what kind of effect your looking for. An overblown "zombie serum" effect from a movie is a completely different thing from the mundanity of a real medical injection for instance...
