Hi,

I would like to know if there is any official solution for Arabic text writing, AE is separating the letters from each other.

Correct answer Szalam

Today's update to After Effects (version 14.2) includes native support for RTL text like Hebrew and Arabic. And support for Indic text like Hindi. For more details on the limitations and features, see the expanded text support section at this link.

For information on the rest of the new features, see this page.

Hi Adobe community,

I joined Adobe recently and will be partnering with the After Effect team regarding Right to Left languages. Since I'm a native Arabic speaker, I would like to know more about the issues and challenges you, as After Effects users are facing while using the app with Arabic texts. Feel free to write to me in Arabic as well if you prefer. Looking forward to receiving your feedback.

Ok I am adding this answer as Adobe has updated the type engine to be universal but yet somehow it still does not work perfectly with Arabic text. What you would have to do though is "reset paragraph settings" and then it will work perfectly.

Is there a guide somewhere for an English user to be instructed in using Arabic text correctly? Copying and pasting, even in 14.2 gives random results. The ArabicText script works, visually, usually but it is very confusing for a westerner. Things go upside down, not just back to front, change completely. Returns to weird things. I'm doing language versioning on different templates and realising it's a can of worms...

Szalam is it possible to paste RTL text from Word into exiting LTR layer in Afx?
Lets say you need to do a translated version of an existing complex animation e.g.
Haven`t had any luck with it so far. Installed all the language. The Afx layer name is correct but what is displayed in the viewport is wrong.

Cheers
