Question

Import File problem w/ Automation Blocks on Mac?

I can't tell if I'm encountering a bug or am just a faulty user!

Using Automation Blocks, I have the downloaded script for "Random Swish at Selected Layer In and Out Points". That script seems to work just fine, but then trying to just change the audio files that the list pulls from keeps coming up with an error when I go to use the adjusted script

execute script

execution result: "file cannot be imported, since it does not exist:/null (line 1)"

destructor final end point 'main script' reached

I've even tried changing out the Embedded File commands with a simple file command to the .wav I want to use in my downloads folder. Any suggestions?

MacOS: 13.6.1
AE: 24.0.3 (build 3)

Hi,

the issue is that you have empty slots in your list of soundfiles:

You still have a list of 7 soundfiles, but the last 5 of them are empty. The script now chooses one of the 7 files randomly and if it picks one of the empty ones, it creates the error.

If anybody else wonders, what this swish sound tool is doing, see here:

Also, just in case you have permission to share the typewriter sounds, I would love to include this as "Add Typwriter Sounds to Selected Layers" tool to our community library. 🙂
