Importing video is shortened

This is my first week using AE so bare with me here.

I made a screen recording on my iPhone that I am trying to import.

The video is 11 seconds long H.264, AAC. When imported into AE it is only showing the last 3.5 seconds of the clip and is playing at a normal speed.

During the import it has trimmed the first 8 seconds off. Is there something I am doing wrong?

Thanks guys!

Correct answer dnljsn

Found a solution:

I took the video into Handbrake. I set the FPS to same as my AE Comp (29.97) and selected Constant Framerate. After running the encode I imported the file and it came out perfect! Full length clip at regular speed.

Cheers!

Yeah, well, don't get too excited.  All you did was to force a fixed frame rate.

But most smart phones shoot at a VARIABLE frame rate, which sucks for almost every serious video application.  You need to get an app that forces your phone to shoot at a fixed frame rate.  If you don't, it's a sure thing you'll have problems with video-audio sync and tiny, annoying variations in the speed of motion.
