In After Effects Project Settings , Is 'Assume Working Gamma' mute when Blend is unchecked?

This should be an easy one...

I'm not using Color Management

and I'm not using "Blend Colors Using 1.0 Gamma"

So with that "Blend..." box Unchecked,  is the "Assume Working Gamma" drop down menu now Mute?

The type is in white, so it looks active.... and if active, I have to enter my working space that my monitor is calibrated at?

Thanks much!

Letty

Reason asking:  When I leave the box unchecked, and change the drop down menu, the timeline starts re rendering as if I made some changes.   It seems that drop down menu is active, even when box is unchecked.  It must have an influence on something,  I just don't know what.  The images on the timeline look the same, but that doesn't mean nothing has changed.

There's no reason to set an alternate gamma. You're using 2.4 according to the HDTV Rec.709 standards.

For working with Premiere Pro, the AE color management settings should be:

Depth: 32bits/channel

Working Space: HDTV Rec.709 16-235

I tend to prefer to uncheck "linearize color space".

This will give you a comp that is in Rec.709 (limited) at 2.4, which is the full broadcast spec that PrPro works in for all appropriate format/codec combinations.

HI,

So, when I uncheck the 'Blend colors...'  box ,   that drop down menu below it is not active ?
