Issue with camera layer when i pre comp the layer

When i precomp layers with a camera in it, the camera freezes. When i open the composition, i have to change the view from "Active Camera (Camera 1)" to "Camera 1". It worked fine in another one of my compositions so im confused as to why it wont work now

If you go into the precomp does the camera move correctly? I don't think I could see that from the video (sorry if I'm wrong). The way you are using precomps (correctly) is effectively turning each precomp into a video in the main sequence. Unless there's something clever going on with expressions that video should be playing fine, but it might not have fully cached or there might be an error in the precomp.

When i go into the precomp the camera works fine but in the view section i still have to set it from "active camera" to "camera 2"

If you set it to Camera 2, does this work now? Also are all the layers repositioned to the start of the precomp or is the precomp's start time matched to the main comp?
