Joystick N Sliders using masks.

Hi Folks, I'm having fun with J n S. I usually use Masks to generate my artwork in AE. The tutorials all use shapes. Is there a really good reason for this?

Many thanks

Bill

Shape layers are much more versatile than masks. There are a bunch of shape animators and tools available that make them more suitable for complex graphics and animations. Masks are still useful for some things, but for creating artwork, a shape layer is the way to go.

Thanks Rick. I thought it would be a scaling issue. I much prefer masks, so I'll continue with that. Thanks matey.

I've moved this from the poorly named Community Help forum (which is the forum for issues using the forums) to the AE forum so that proper help can be offered.
