Keyframes stretched after copying and pasting

New Here ,
Feb 08, 2025 Feb 08, 2025

When copying and pasting keyframes in After Effects, for some layers the pasted keyframes appear stretched or out of sync with the original timing.

Steps to reproduce the bug:

  1. Create an animation with keyframes on a layer.
  2. Select the keyframes and copy them (Ctrl+C).
  3. Move the playhead to a new position on the timeline, select a different layer, and paste the keyframes (Ctrl+V).
  4. Observe that the pasted keyframes are stretched or spaced differently from the original keyframes.

Expected result:
The pasted keyframes should retain the exact timing and spacing as the original keyframes.

Actual result:
The keyframes are stretched, altering the animation timing.

Additional information:

  • The issue only occurs on some compositions.

  • The issue only occurs when copying keyframes from one layer to another.

System details:

  • After Effects version: 24.6.1 (Build 2)

  • Operating System: Windows 10 Pro 22H2

  • Hardware: AMD Ryzen 3 3200G with Radeon Vega Graphics 3.60 GHz, 16.0 GB (13.9 GB usable)

I've not seen that before but I did notice you have the Twixtor effect, is it possible that is throwing off the timings?

I'm having the same problem (AE 25.1.0 build 68, mac sequoia)... pasted keyframes, if they're being pasted as part of an effect or text animator, getting stretched exponentially per instance.

Are you using any third-party plug-ins? If yes, disable them (go to Effect menu > Manage Effects) and see if that brings any change.
