Linear workflow help: Blender EXR -> After Effects VFX(Confused Here) -> DaVinci

I'm creating a fully 3D animation in Blender, adding VFX elements in After Effects, and color grading in DaVinci Resolve. Need guidance on proper linear workflow:

Current pipeline:

  1. Blender: OpenEXR (RGB Half, DWAA)
  2. After Effects: Adding H.264 VFX elements (fire/energy)
  3. DaVinci: Linear grade + final transform

Questions:

  • Best color space settings for EXR export from Blender
  • How to properly match H.264 VFX elements to linear EXR
  • Correct DaVinci color pipeline for CG content
  • Output transform recommendations

Seeing conflicting advice online about proper CG/VFX color management. Any help

You need to set up OCIO in File menu > Project settings > Color tab on After Effects.

e.g.

Color Engine: OCIO color managed

OCIO Configuration: ACES 1.3 Studio v1.0

Bit Depth: 32 bits per channel

3D LUT Interporation: Tetrahedral

Working Color Space: scene_linear: ACEScg
