Question

Low quality with Content-Aware Fill

Hey, I used the content aware fill tool to remove an object from my After Effects composition. I set a mask over the object and generated a fill layer. The object was covered pretty good, but I had some problems with video quality in the mask. As you can see in the screenshot, the mask's resolution is lower than the video's resolution and the mask is blurred. Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks in advance!

99.99% of the time, I use a 'create a reference frame' as content aware seems to not work very well for me, without it. Thats the only solution i can suggest at this point in time.

I have the same problem - the quality of fill is too low or blurred. Any ideas how to fix it?

Probably the same old issue as with the million questions we get on tracking: This footage doesn't strike me as something that can easily be filled or tracked. It's probably just a bunch of noise to the fill algorithms and you may have to employ other methods. Anyway, I agree with Rick. Without seeing the actual full frame and source image this is not realyl going anywhere.

Content aware works well but fills with lower resolution content than those of the image

There is absolutely no way to tell what the problem is in your workflow if we do not see the uncropped comp with the problem layer selected and all modified properties for that layer revealed. Select the footage layer and the fill layer, press "uu" and take a screenshot. Post that info and maybe we can help.

Did you follow any of Adobe's tutorials on Content-Aware Fill? I've seen a couple of YouTube tutorials by enthusiasts that were poorly explained and one of them that was just wrong.
