Mac Book Pro for After Effects?

Does anyone know if the Macbook pro will run after effects smoothly? I put the specs of the laptop below. Thanks

Those specs are adequate for running After Effects, but not great.

I use a MacBook Pro for After Effects almost daily, but it's an i7 CPU with better GPU and 16GB of RAM.  My machine runs very smoothly, even with complex projects and GPU based plugins like VCP Element 3D.

Do you have the 15 in mac with these specs? If you don't do you know if it should be enough to run after effects smoothly? Thanks

Smoothly ? Unlikely.... Sorry for that.

Painfully, maybe...

In my opinion you need (a lot) more ram, a dedicated graphic card, and separate storage for cache / project and footage.

And i7 wouldn't hurt, too. At least if you want faster exports in some cases. Now if only AE took better advantage of hyper-threading...
