Mask Path not working properly

Question

Hi folks,I have the latest version of adobe after effects and i was using it this morning and all was ok.  Then i started a new project and when i used the pen tool to create a mask on a solid, the mask path wont record the key frames in vertical position for me!  Its probay something simple but for the life of me cant seem to fix it.  I was able to record mask paths in my other project this morning without issue.  help please. Brian

What do you mean that it won't record the vertical position? You created a mask on a solid, set a new Mask Path keyframe, moved down in time, then tried to move the mask up, but a new keyframe wasn't created? Does it work in any other direction?

Is it possible that you're not moving the mask, but are instead moving the layer? I just tried this in a new project, made a mask on a solid, set the Mask Path key, moved down a second, double clicked the mask to get the transform box, moved it up, and I got a new Mask Path keyframe.
