I work from mac with the operating system Mac OS Sonoma 14.2.1, when practising with After Effect version 2024 in the shading of 2D objects, I wanted to use the Gaussian blur effect but it does not appear in the effects window. So to check I looked in the "effects" folder to see if it was there, and it is, but I don't know what to do to find it and use it.

Hi Magazzino Virtuale,

What's the version of After Effects you're using? Are you able to see the effect if you go to the menu Effects > Blur & Sharpen? If so, check if it has been disabled from the Effects Manager. Go to Effects > Manage Effects > uncheck Only Show Third-Party Effects and search of the effect. Make sure it's checked.

Let us know the result.

Thanks,
Nishu
