MOGRT from Creative Cloud not opening in After Effects

I downloaded the "Breaking News" mogrt (AdobeStock_173117803) from Adobe Stock, and I can't open it in AE. In fact, it is grayed out in Finder when I do try to import it.

I want to kill the backgrounds and make the graphic keyable over my footage, which doesn't seem to be available in the options in Essential Graphics in Premiere. I've patched something together using wipes, but I'd like to have a more clean solution.

I'm using the latest versions of all Adobe products.

Thanks.

This is the workflow:

  1. Select File/Open from the AE menu and browse to the folder containing the MOGRT
  2. The AdobeStock_173117803.mogrt file will be greyed out, but select it anyway and click Open
  3. An Extract panel will open
  4. Click on Extract
  5. After Effects should extract and open the MOGRT for you. It did for me.

That was masterful!  Had what I needed in 5 clicks after I got it into AE.  Thank you very much.
