If this is a recording from Camtasia, you can export from Camtasia with no cursor. Then just add it in later with keyframes. Much easier than tracking it.

If it's Camtasia, I'm pretty sure it has a feature built in TO highlight the curser.

It is a hundred time faster to do that kind of thing in your screen capture app. Any screen capture app worth its price will have a feature to highlight, enlarge, or in some other way emphasize a moving mouse.

If that is not an option, and the feature region includes the entire mouse pointer, and the search area includes enough area to include movement between frames, and the background isn't going to confuse the tracker, then your best option is to turn off keyframe visibility in the Preferences Display Panel so you don't get confused by all the tracking points, then. carefully go through the tracking process and pause whenever the tracker loses the mouse and move it manually. It's really easy to see errors and make corrections if the screen isn't cluttered with keyframes, but it is going to take some time. There is no magic solution to that kind of tracking problem, it just takes time.

I'm not much into tracking, but try to redefine the tacking area, so it covers the mouse movements better.
