My Ae does not respond after I change a font for text

My ae 2021 works perfectly but it does not respond only when I tried to change my text to another font. I've tried many times and the issue stays the same. It only works without changing the font. How can I fix that?

Thanks for writing in.

Does it happen when you try to change your font to specific font? I am asking this because there have been a few font-related bugs similar to yours in the previous versions of After Effects. If there is no particular reason to stay on the 2021 version, I'd suggest updating After Effects to the latest. The 2022 version got a new text engine and it has some performance improvements.

Yesss. Whenever I change to a specific font it happens, but it works perfectly with the typeface Times New Roman. I've updated to 2022 version but it didn't work so I came back to 2021, with which I least I can open and work with my files though it's super slow.

Check the font in other application ( photoshop, illustrator ) are you getting the same result ?

No, it doesn't. They still work quite well.

Start by checking the fonts on your system and weed out any unnecessary stuff like fonts you have downloaded from obscure places on the Internet. Also check your hardware acceleration settings and all that. Furthermore consider deleting the system font cache and the Adobe one as well and reboot your macchine. Anything more will require soem actual info on your system, fonts, language settings and so on, none of which you have provided so far.

I've uninstalled some fonts as I think  they might cause the problem. It makes my Ae at least work, like 3 out of 10 times when I tried to open a file, but it's not even fast enough for me to make a keyframe.  Btw, my device is HP Spectre Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-8565U, 16Gb RAM, and I do not know how to delete font cache bc it seems to be different from what I've searched online to do so. Do you have any further advice?
