while editing a project in premier i use after effects for other effects in my project. when i press render to after effects a rainbow screen pops up not letting me edit the clip in after effects at all. ive tried to convert the files to avi.  from MOV they then showed up in after effects but not premier. im having the hardest time with this. both my after effects and premier been updated my mac is updated. im just trying to figure this out so i can edit my projects using both after effects and premier.

Hi Keenen5E30,

Sorry for your issue.

Is it happening only to the clips which are sent from Premiere Pro? Are you able to import the clip into a new project in After Effects and preview it? What's the version of After Effects and Premiere Pro you're using? Also, what are your system specifications (CPU, GPU, RAM, OS version)?

Let us know, we're here to help.

Thanks,

Nishu

Your issue is that After Effects does not import *.avi file? The sequential file format would be more editable in After Effects.
