My mask has a black square

Hello!
I'm trying put a glow effect into my mask but a black square appear around the mask. (The mask is in a Nested sequence)

turn on the unmult option on deep glow

That could simply be related to inadequate hardware acceleration. Switch the comp to software-only rendering, then after that update your system's graphics driver and check the relevant settings in AE. Otherwise more info is needed.

I seriously don't know how to switch a composition to software-only rendering.

File > Project Settings> Video rendering and Effects tab. Choose mercury software only.

 

Also you can precompose that layer and apply the effect to that precomp. Some third party filters need specific workflows when you have masks applied to layers.
