Question

My T-rex floats away

Hello Giants of the Industry! (yes, I'm sucking up).
I'm trying to get a 3D object to stay on a 3D camera solid I've created. I whip picked the object to the track solid but as the camera pans right the object drifts off. The solid does a nice job of staying on the table surface it tracked. I selected active camera. Anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? (other than trying to put a T-Rex in a science lab)?

Thanks for reaching out, bobby5FAC.

It usually happens when the object's position is not correct in 3D space. Try this: Highlight the solid layer and press P. It'll show the layer's Position property. Click on Position and copy it. Now highlight the T-rex layer and paste. That'll copy the position of the solid to the T-rex.

Let me know how it goes.

Thanks,
Nishu

Thanks for the prompt reply Nishu!
Did what you suggested. It moved the T-Rex as shown in the screen shot, and now it seems to nose dive as the camera pans. It also seems to distort the Rex? The XYZ of the Rex looks off like that stretched him.
No wonder ILM gets paid so much.
