Natively importing SVG files in After Effects

I know there is ways like using eps ai, and bodymovin help on export.

But why or when could I see a native import or place svg without needing a plugin or converting a file?

I mean by this time now, it should be standard rather need to use another program to fix this. Is just aannoying.
