Hi everyone, am french i will try my best to explain my case
I was wondering if there was any way to transform a stroke to a path ?
I know, it's possible for a circle, rectangle, star etc... But is it possible when you only want to create a path from the stroke ? Like, let's say you have a simple line in two points, with some thickness and you want to get a path that will shape the whole contour stroke, so you'll get 4 points instead of 2.
My second question is, is it possible to animate vertex of a path, separely, to avoid jittery animation ?
Like maybe a way to show vertex animation separately, or vertex value position to copy/paste... something like that ?
Thanks, have a great day !

As far as I know, there is no clean way to convert a stroke path into an outline stroke path in After Effects. But you could try in the Ae menu Layer->Auto-Trace... which will create paths round the outlines of the layer. This tool will create masks, but you could then cut and paste the mask path to a shape.

Create Null objects for the path, create some keyframes to pin the vertices you want to remain static, animate the other one.

Thank you Mylenium !
I've thought about that, but did not reach to pin to a vertex, how can you do it please ?
