no designer trapcode

Question

so i have the trapcode suite and it has a serial number. but when i drag trapcode to my whatever layer, there's no designer, just some register button. i don't understand this, because doesn't entering a serial register the product? why isn't it registered and why is there no designer if a) there was a serial, and b) it accepted the serial upon installation? i couldn't find anything anywhere at all on the internet, just a bunch of people saying trapcode didn't show up in their ae. it shows up in my ae, it's just totally useless because i can't use the designer. also, the register button does nothing when i click it
version is cc 2019. i'm no tech expert so this is all the info i can provide.

What version of trapcode you have?,, i think you need to have the latest one V4.0.1 and up, @Andrew_Yoole they mean this

What do you mean by "no designer"?

What version of After Effects are you using? What version of the Trapcode plugins are you using? Have you downloaded the lastest versions of all the above? Have you installed Red Giant Link, the utility that helps you install, register and update Trapcode plugins?

Create a new comp and a solid layer. Apply Trapcode Particular.

In the Effects window, click on Register. Enter the Serial Number.

If something in this process doesn't work, please explain in detail what happens, or doesn't happen.
