I'm stuck in a project at my company. The idea is to transform one product from raw to final so that we can show the processes it went through. I have the idea that it can be done in after effects but don't know how to animate the opacity. The product has been played using some kind of opacity brush or Luma Key.

You can use animated gradients over the layers as Luma Track Mattes to create the progressive fade-in and fade-out. You can also use animated masks with animated feathering and keyframe positions over each layer. There is no automated plugin that will exactly duplicate this effect with a couple of clicks. It's all properly aligned with animated opacity driven by mask property keyframes or luminance levels (white to black) on a luma track matte layer.
