Photoshop strokes not showing in After Effects

It is hard to say without seeing the PSD file with all of the layers showing in the Layer panel and seeing the Comp you have created in AE with the modified properties of the layers revealed. The only thing I can think of is that you imported as a comp using layer effects. Maybe there are just too many layers. Without workflow and comp details that about as good a guess as I have.

Do you use the stroke of a shape object since that will rasterize (unless you are not animating it). If you want strokes you can use the Stroke Effect which is part of the style.  If you use this you need to bring in the photoshop file with Editable Layer Style. If you Merge Layer Style into Footage, the stroke effect will become part of the raster image as well. If you keep it a layer style you can change the stoke and animated via the layer style property. You can not intersect Layer Styles in 3D. 

You can always opt to put the stroke on in After Effects. If you animate that stoke you can intersect in 3D

If you are using Photoshop and the stroke keeps dissappearing, check the size. Maybe it is too small like a partial pixel. If it is not a small valuse and you think there is no reason for it to disappear, try resetting your preferences:

1. Exit the application

2. Press and hold Alt+Control+Shift (Windows) or Option+Command+Shift (macOS) as you start Adobe Software.

You may be prompted to delete the current settings. The new preferences files are created when you start the application.
