Preview window is black

Can anybody please help me with this.

I´m trying to import a video or a image to a composition and the preview windows is totally black

The project panel shows no image preview for the selected image sequence. That's the same image sequence that is in the timeline. My first guess is that the image sequence is fouled up somehow. Test that theory by ensuring that the Comp magnification ratio (bottom left corner) is set to Fit and add a comp sized colored solid to the timeline. If you can see the solid, and you can not see the image sequence, then the problem lies in the image sequence.
