Problems With Video Import from my iPhone in After Effects

Hello...

I need help, I am a storyteller and with this lockdown I am making online lessons using a green screen video, adding the book´s images behind me.

I record myself with the green screen telling the story with my iPhone and I import the video to AE.

When I do this.. with short videos (less than a minute) everything works perfect.

But when I do longer videos (3-4 min ones) The video seems like if it was a bad slow image sequence..I do look like a robot.

Sound is perfect but the video aint that perfect.. It seems like I was making pauses and trembling a lot because of that.

I am kinda new at this.. so sorry in advance if this sounds stupid but I saw some tutorials and changed the frame rate as some posts suggest here.. but the video still looks weird and my voice (of course) talks in slow motion.

Are there some import video options to avoid this? Or a setting to fix this?

Please help 😞

Does it ac tually play smoothly on your phone our for that matter outside AE on your computer? What computer are you even using? What are the recording settings? Too many variables here. chances are that either your computer is not up to the task or you used crooked recording settings to begin with. You know, AE doesn't like all the tricks mobile devices tend to employ to save storage space like variable data rates or even variable framerates. You may need to transcode the clip to a more friendly format. Otherwise I suspect that due to a less than stellar system with slow discs your AE is struggling with decoding and caching the clips, in which case the answer is still the same: Convert/ transcode/ conform it to something more favorable.

Hello and thanks for your response.

I am on MacOS 10.15.. and I used a regular iphone (XR) video without any tricks.

its by default a 4K video at 30 fps (maybe the 4K is the problem?)

The video plays smoothly everywhere but AE.

The weird thing is that happens only with 3-4 min videos.

The ones where I am making an intro of my story that last not more than 1 min play smoothly in AE.

Those short minute intro videos are made same way than the 3-4 min ones where I am having trouble.

What friendlier formats are out there? Maybe I can try that way.
