Programmable / dynamic marker
Hello everyone,
Today I have a very special need and I am not really sure if a solution exist. So here is my request: since a few days I am working for my company on a set of several motion graphic compostions that will be used to show information on a screen network arround the building. Until now, informations and pictures were layed out with a PowerPoint presentation but it is not really modern and design, and since I work a lot with After Effects I was asked for replace this system with a video one. The idea is that the person who wants to display informations has to create a very simple PremierePro sequence where you put templates that I am currently creating using After Effects and Essentials Graphics.
At the moment my first layout is mostly done and I managed to create a comp where the user can verry easily insert text, images and even set the duration of the "slide" (using some expressions). But this last feature creates a tiny problem : as these templetes are designed to be used by someone who isn't likely to know very well video editing, I wanted the template to show a marker that the user could refer to know at which timing he should place the next "slide" so they chain perfeclty in time.
I saw on the Internet that expression can be triggered by a marker, but can we do opposite ? Could an expression create or move a marker arround a composition ? That was my first idea, but I don't think it is possible (but I am asking you anyway to be sure I'm not missing something).
If you guys know another way to make this editing easier, I would be really happy to know it 🙂
Have a nice day !
