Question

purchased animated icons, need to edit

I have purchased an aep file with multiple icons within that file.

I need to edit and handful of the icons that I want to use and then export as a GIF.

I have not trained in AferrEffects. I have watched some videos but have not found what I need without recreating my icons n Illustrator and creating my own animations.

Can anyone direct me to video tutorials?

Thanks.

Liz

What Bob said,

There is no shortcut past learning how to use After Effects.  Seeking only what you "need" to know to achieve your vision is a sure path

to failure because you do not know even enough to know what you need to know.   Even the seemingly simple task of asking a question here on the forums, as well as understanding the answers, require a base level of knowledge about After Effects.  You MUST spend some time learning the software. You MUST first do the projects that tutorials tell you to do because the tutorials are taught by instructors who know what you need to know better than you do.

Example:  When you go to class for math do you walk in and tell the teacher that you want to learn how to solve a specific algebraic equation?  No,  the teacher teaches a linear curriculum, teaching you what you need to know, starting with basic additiion & subtraction, fractions, multiplication and division, etc, etc...SO, that when it comes time you will be able to understand algebra.

BTW, Depending on what kind of files your "icons" are,  you might even first need to learn the basics of Illustrator as well.

Feeling discouraged? Challenged? Overwhelmed?  Maybe you should should just hire someone who has already taken the time to learn how to use these softwares to do it for you.  You see learning the software takes time and work, which is why people who succeed in learning it are able to make money applying their knowledge

Thank you. Do you have time to help me resolve why one of the icons. The aep file will not allow me to render "animated" to create my GIF.  It animates when I hit play in AF, but I render it to .mov then it isn't animated when I play the .mov file nor when I use Media Encoder to create GIF. It worked for all the other icon files within the purchased AEP. Help!

Here are my files: Dropbox - AEP icon - Simplify your life

THANK YOU!

I'm sorry I don't have AE 2019 installed at the moment due to some technical issues.  When I do get it reinstalled I can take a look.
