Hello.  I have set up a basic animated gradient for testing of using the bodymovin plugin with webflow.

I am running mac os 10.13.6

After Effects CC 2019

I have tried installing bodymovin via adobe exchange and also via zxp installer.

I see the bodymovin extension in window.  I have enabled "allow scripts to write files and access network" (there is not separate preferences tab for this) it appears as a single item in within general

Every time I try to render it says "render failed".

Any way to get it to render?

I started a different after effects project with no effects, just a scale and it rendered.  I then found this "cheat list". So it looks like you can't you use most effects with the plugin.

Bodymovin exports transforms, not pixel operations. All the script can do is render an image sequence for you, but you can do that directly from AE, anyway.  It may help to read the help/ instructions for the script. That doesn't negate that there could be an issue, but without exact info on your project nobody can tell you much. eitehr way, if you're just exporting cycling gradients, you are using the wrong tool/ method.

I updated my OS to the most recent Monterey.

I updated after effects to AE 22.2 .  Same "render error"

This is the type of thing I'm trying to do.  Export an aimation to use within webflow.  There are multiple videos showing this type of thing.

Any ideas?

Hi variousmosses,

I remember there were some issues with the Bodymovin plug-in around After Effects version 2019. Issues have been addressed in the later releases. I would recommend updating After Effects and the plug-in to the latest. Also, there is a separate tab for the Scripts and Expressions in the new version (if you're looking for that).

Note: After Effects 2019 won't be available to download in the Creative Cloud desktop app if you uninstall it.

Let us know if updating helps.

Thanks,

Nishu
