RAM Preview issue? After Effects

Hey,

So for my latest after effects projects, the ram preview has been bugging out and im not sure whether there is an issue with the way i have enabled ram preview or whether it is a bug with my application.

When having even one item whether it is audio or just an animation, the ram preview starts normal speed (note i have set it to cache before playing and to play at the frame rate of comp) then skips like it is having trouble keeping up then drops the play rate to half speed or even lower. Hope that makes sense, it is really hard for me to edit when my render cant play at same speed the whole way.

Running on:

Mac OS High Sierra

Mac Pro (Late 2013)

12-core 2.7Ghz

AMD FirePro D700 6GB

Hope there is enough info there.

Thanks.

Hi josiah_stewart,

Sorry for the trouble. Have you tried purging All Memory & Disk cache from Menu bar > Edit > Purge > All Memory & Disk Cache?

Please try & let us know the status.

Thanks,

Vidya

Hey Vidya,

That was a really good help, solved my rendering time, and i can see a huge improvement. Does it take more then one attempt to help the audio to play correctly or is there audio formats that adobe doesn't work well with.

Thanks.

Scratch that,

just tried to preview again and my audio will still skip then slow the whole clip down.
